Oaty Apple Slices

These Oaty Apple slices are a perfect marriage of wholegrain oats and crunchy apples! Truvia's sugar-like texture and calorie-free sweetness make it perfect for baking these delicious on-the-go snacks.

Oat Topping

  • 200g Rolled Oats

  • 230g Wholemeal Plain flour

  • 1tbsp Honey

  • 1tsp Ground cinnamon

  • 170g Reduced fat butter

  • 12 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Nielsen Massey vanilla extract

  • 30g Truvia

Apple Filling

  • 5 small eating apples

  • 40g Truvia

  • 45g Corn flour

  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice

  • 30g Chopped mixed nuts (optional)


  • 1.

    Preheat the oven to 180c / 160c (fan). Grease and line the bottom of a baking 30cm x 20cm tin.

  • 2.

    Place all of the ingredients for the oat topping into a large bowl and mix using a free standing or hand held mixer on a low speed for 1-2 minutes until it is evenly mixed and resembles breadcrumbs.

  • 3.

    Place 23 of the oat mixture into the lined baking tray and press down to create a base.

  • 4.

    Peel and core the eating apples and chop roughly before adding to a food processor with the remaining ingredients for the apple filling. Blitz until the apple is finely diced.

  • 5.

    Spread the apple filling over the oat mix base.

  • 6.

    Top with the remaining oat mixture and gently press down. Sprinkle with mixed nuts if desired.

  • 7.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 mins until golden.

  • 8.

    Cut into squares and enjoy still warm or allow to cool.
