Kansas City Style Barbeque Sauce

This rich, sweet barbecue sauce owes its flavor to a KC grilling tradition. Each serving adds a kick to your favorite grilled foods and keeps it innocently sweet. Makes 20 servings.

  • 2 Tbsp onion, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced

  • 1 Tbsp butter

  • 250g Tomato ketchup

  • 250g Passata tomato sauce

  • 100g of Truvia

  • 120ml red wine vinegar

  • 80g molasses

  • 12tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 12tsp salt

  • 12tsp black pepper

  • 18tsp cinnamon

  • 12tsp cayenne powder

  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tsp liquid smoke (optional)


  • 1.

    Sauté onion and garlic in butter in medium saucepan.

    In a separate small bowl, stir together the remaining ingredients.

    Add to saucepan; simmer for 30 minutes. For thinner sauce, reduce cook time, and for thicker sauce increase cook time.
